Toffee Bars

2 sticks real butter

1 c dark brown sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

2 c flour

6 oz chocolate chips

1/2 c chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar.  Add egg and vanilla.  Mix well.  Add flour and blend well.  Spread 1/4 inch thick in jelly roll pan, leaving about 1/2 inch space around edges.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.  Immediately after removing from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top.  Let stand 2 minutes and then gently spread melted chocolate around.  Sprinkle nuts all over and let cool.  Cut into small bars.
